Our Story
Stormwind wasn’t built because we wanted to start another knife company.
It was built because we believe craftsmanship changes people.
Long before Stormwind Knife Supply existed… long before Donovan Byers Knives… there was simply a boy with a dream.
Since the sixth grade, I’ve been fascinated by knives. I wasn’t just interested in owning them—I wanted to understand them. I wanted to know how they were made, why certain designs worked, and what made a handmade knife different from every other tool.
That curiosity eventually became a lifelong pursuit of craftsmanship.
For more than fifteen years, I served my community in law enforcement while building knives whenever I could. My wife, Brittany, also served for six years with the Sheriff’s Office as both a dispatcher and administrative assistant. During those years, we learned lessons that still shape Stormwind today.

Those values didn’t stay behind when we left public service. They became the foundation of this company.
Knife making was never just a hobby. It was a dream that grew during evenings, weekends, and every spare moment we could find. Like many families, we faced seasons that tested us. We lost our home to a fire and spent months living in a camper while rebuilding our lives. During that time, we made a decision that would shape our future. Instead of giving up on the dream, we invested in it.
Eventually, that dream became Donovan Byers Knives.
Then something unexpected happened.
People didn’t just want to buy knives.
They wanted to learn.
They wanted to know how knives were made.
They wanted to build one themselves.
That realization changed everything.
Stormwind was born from a simple belief:
